Istina. Nadodala bih samo još da većinu "dobrih bakterija" naše tijelo proizvodi samo, od hranjivih tvari koje u njega unosimo, u probavnom traktu. Tamo, između ostalog, stvara i B12.

Sve osim b12. Nemoj se zavaravati, ljudski organizam je kroz dugi period neprirodne prehrane izgubio sposobnost stvaranja b12. Enzimi u crijevima koji stvaraju te bakterije su još uvijek tu, ali ne funkcioniraju.

Kažu da ih se može "natjerati" da profunkcioniraju/ obnove funkciju redovitom konzumacijom fermentiranih namirnica/ napitaka. Bakterije i enzimi sličnog tipa se spominju npr. kao jedan od sastojka fermentiranog pšeničnog soka (eng. Rejuvelac/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rejuvelac).

We had a question/answer session with Victoria Boutenko this morning, so I asked about B-12. She said some raw foodists have low B-12 and others have normal levels. She was also curious about this phenomenon, so she surveyed many raw families to come up with an explanation. The answer was so surprising!

She said the people who have B-12 deficiencies wash their produce VERY well, while the others do not (these people also eat organic produce). She was curious about this, so she bought a powerful magnifying glass and went to the farmer's market to analyze the produce. Sure enough, she found tiny green bugs, invisible to the naked eye, that remained on the produce with superficial or no washing. Consequently, the people with normal B-12 levels were getting their vitamins from BUGS!
Just another reason to eat organic foods (no little bugs on the pesticide ridden foods), and finally a justification not to scrub so much!

Of course, she said she doesn't particularly like to think of herself as eating bugs, but when she's eating an unwashed (organic) raspberry and feels something funny in her mouth, she just thinks about her B-12 boost! (Besides, she included insects in the pie chart for the chimpanzee diet in her Green for Life book, why shouldn't humans eat them, too?)

Conclusion about Organic Produce as a B12 Source for Vegans

Unless uncleaned, organic produce is shown to lower MMA levels, it is unjustified to claim that B12 can be obtained in such a manner, or to claim with certainty that humans have ever relied on it as a source of B12.

Only until organic foods are chosen randomly from markets and grocery stores throughout the country (or world) and are consistently shown to decrease MMA levels will someone not be taking a considerable risk in relying on organic foods for B12. This article documents many vegans suffering from B12 deficiency, and it is safe to assume that many of them consumed significant amounts of organic foods.
